This Thursday 10 December, the Ross-on-Wye Community Development Trust will broadcast its third and final live Facebook event of 2020. Dr Simon Lennane, GP will be joined by speakers from Herefordshire’s Talk Community, the Ross Food Hub and Ross Hedgehog Care & Advice. The live monthly community events, launched in October, are designed to connect more effectively with the community and address local issues affecting Ross-on-Wye and Herefordshire.

This week’s free online event – starting at 6pm on www.facebook.com/rosscdt – will cover Herefordshire’s Talk Community Hubs which aims to connect people with local community resources; how the newly launched Ross Food Hub’s ‘Zero Waste Stall’ was established; and how to look after our local wildlife, particularly hedgehogs. There will also be a brief update on the status of the vaccine roll out locally.

Dr Simon Lennane, GP and Clinical Primary Care Network Director, will be joined by Amy Pitt, Assistant Director of Herefordshire’s Talk Community Programme, Tim Shelley, Project Leader of the Ross Food Hub and Charlotte Reynolds, volunteer with Ross Hedgehog Care & Advice team. If you have any questions for the panel, you can email comms@rosscdt.org.uk in advance of the event, or send in your questions live via their Facebook page on the night.

Dr Lennane commented: “This week’s event is a slight departure from the format of our first two Facebook events. We wanted to cover a few additional topics of local interest within the community as opposed to focusing solely on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Whilst that is of course a priority as far as keeping our communities safe goes, we wanted to highlight other community resources that people may not be aware of. It’s all about connecting with people and ensuring they have valuable information available to support them and their families.”
