2 Dec 2020

Last week’s final of The Great British Bake Off saw the announcement of the 2020 winner but the Baking category in this year’s Ross in Lockdown photo competition was equally impressive with some amazing submissions from our local bakers.

For our Day #2 Christmas Countdown photo we’re posting ‘VE Day Scones’ from Gay Goodwin of The Rumbling Tum – her entry was ‘Commended’ in the Baking category of our photo competition and really impressed the judges.

Gay Goodwin’s VE Day Scones – ‘Commended’ in the 2020 Ross in Lockdown photo competition

The Rumbling Tum, a local catering company which has been operating in Ross-on-Wye for over 25 years, is run by the wonderful Gay Goodwin. During the first lockdown, she helped to feed hundreds of elderly and isolating residents and worked flat out to keep her freshly prepared bulk meals-on-wheels service available to carers, NHS staff and children of isolating parents, not only in Ross but also to a much wider area outside the town.

This Christmas, Gay is providing a hot meal delivery service for the whole week including Christmas Day – so if you or someone you know would love to enjoy a hot Christmas dinner with none of the washing up, please contact Gay on 07771 682786 or 01989 567660 to find out more.

Further details including menus and prices can be found on The Rumbling Tum’s website.
